Submission Guidelines

What you may write about

Contributions may address democracy, law, public life, business, institution-building, education, technology, artificial intelligence, leadership, governance, philosophy, culture, social change, fiction or reflective writing.

What we look for

• A clear question, idea or argument.
• Original thinking expressed in accessible language.
• Reasoned analysis supported by examples or reliable evidence where appropriate.
• A non-partisan tone that invites reflection and constructive disagreement.
• Writing that respects people even when questioning their ideas.

What we will not publish

• Party propaganda, election campaigning or political slogans.
• Personal attacks, discriminatory content or unsubstantiated allegations.
• Disguised advertising, promotional articles or copied material.
• Work that violates copyright, confidentiality or another person’s privacy.
• Factual claims that cannot be reasonably verified.

Preparing your submission

• As a general guide, articles may be between 800 and 1,800 words. Shorter reflective pieces may also be considered.
• Send the article in an editable document format.
• Include your full name, a short biography and your preferred contact details.
• Identify the sources for important facts, quotations and statistics.
• Disclose any personal, professional or financial interest connected with the subject.
• If artificial intelligence materially assisted the writing or research, disclose how it was used.

Editorial review

Every submission will be reviewed for relevance, originality, clarity, factual reliability and consistency with the character of Questions That Matter. Submission does not guarantee publication.

We may suggest revisions or edit an accepted article for clarity, length and style. Material changes will be discussed with the author before publication. The article will carry the author’s name and biography.

The views expressed in a guest contribution belong to its author. Publication does not necessarily imply endorsement by the editor.

Originality and rights

By submitting an article, the author confirms that it is original, that necessary permissions have been obtained and that its publication will not infringe another person’s rights. The author retains copyright and grants Questions That Matter permission to publish, display and archive the accepted article.
